I know that it is an old product, but all my songs are saved with it. When installing, I got a message about a conflict with Windows Media Technologies. It still said installation was successful. However, when the app starts up, it searches for "external sampler" and then freezes.
-Is there a work around?
-Are my files copatible with newer software?
Any ideas why I'm having this conflict now? I actually installed this same program on a new computer a month ago and had no trouble.

I can't help you with the windows error, or a workaround. You would probably need to log a support ticke for that.
I can suggest that that you download the trial version of Music Maker, register the trial so you get the full 30 days and see if your files are compatible.

Youch that really sucks. Having a lot of files that can't be read by the newest application must be really hard because you can't get the benefits of the new app and still be able to use it for your existing projects.

Hi, did you get this resolved? I'm running Music Maker 2005 Deluxe on Win7 64bit no prob. Before installing I right clicked on the CD ROM drive... clicked open and scrolled down to the exe. install file... right click on this & then click properties - compatibility - select WinXP Service pack 3... then install... once installed right click the Music Maker icon on your desktop, go into properties and set compatibility here too... I can save & open files fine...
Only other I discovered is make sure your fonts in Windows control panel are set to regular because I had mine set to large and it messed up the spacing of options in the piano player display..until I changed the size of lettering in the Windows Control Panel. The programme does occasionally crash but work seems to be saved anyway when reopened. I had to dig deep to get the most out of this programme and thoroughly read through the pdf manual buried on the CD ROM but it has been fun exploring...!
