I have fixed the firewire problem but still can not record under win7

Camera (Panasonic) work fine under XP and MP 17. But under Win 7 (Ultimate) when vidoe appears in the preview monitor window the white record button goes grey. I can control the camera (Play, Forward etc). I upgraded from Movie Pro 17 which had the same problem to Movie edit Pro MX thinking it would cure the problem but it has not..

Motherboard is an ASUS M4A87TD EVO, 4Gb Ram,Gforce 450 graphic. Please note Camera, MB, Firewire all work and record under Video Wave and Win DVD Creator in Win 7. Which lead me to believe that there is some incompatability in the OS and operating software Magix

Hi.  Not sure I can give you a direct answer to this but one statement in your post leads me to wonder whether you are not doing this the right way!

You talk about the "white record button"; the button you press to make MEP or VPX record from a firewire input is actually RED.  The white button in the same area of the record screen is actually the STOP button and is "greyed out" whenever there is no recording going on.

So, is this simply a misunderstnading of which button to press, or have you simply confused the colours in your post?

Jeff
