i have a bew pc with windows 7. Although Audiolab 2004 runs fine on it, it won't recognise the CD-Burner and says there isn't one

It's an Acer M3970. When I put a blank cd-r in, it asks if I want to burn using EXplorer, Media Plyer, Nero, but AudioLabs 2004 can't seem to find it.

Is this a problem with this old version of AudioLabs and Windows 7 or something more basic I'm doing wrong?  Thanks for any help

Hi JohnTheBass,

I would recommend to log into the support site download area :

http://support2.magix.net/customer/en/download

Here you should find the Tools section. There will be the latest burn routines, if you download and install this software then the burning will work. Unfortunately, though, we can only provide very limited support for such an old product and it is not supported at all on Windows 7. If the burn routines do not help, then we can only advise to upgrade to the latest version. MAGIX Sales can help with that.

Kind Regards,

Excellent suggestion - I downloaded both the 2009 and 2010 burner updates and between them they fixed the problem - I can now burn my cds again. Thanks for the advice.  John
