I get no sound on playback of an imported video clip

I can import a video clip successfully however when I play back in editing mode I get no sound. I checked all settings (program settings) and all combinations with no results.
I am evaluting Magix Movies on DVD 8 Download version and like wht I see but getting very frustrated with the sound.
This does not encourage me to purchase.
Your assistance would be appreciated

Perhaps you have not the correct audio codec on your PC. Find AC3Filter on Internet an install this. Try it !!

What kind of video material is it that you're importing (file type/extensions, video/audio codec)? Possibly a suitable audio codec is missing here. A codec analyzer tool like GSpot will help you gain more clarity as to the specifics of the video file and the installation status of the used codecs on your system:
