I get an error message when I open Video Saver

Hello, I bought Video Saver brand new this month and have been using it with no problems. However on Christmas Day, upon opening the software, an Access violation message appeared. The error code mentions vcruntime140.dll.

I don't understand it, I had been using the softwarer perfectly the day before.

I googled the .dll and uploaded new .dll files after having checked my computer (64bit). It did not work. The softwarer still did not open and the same message appeared after rebooting. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, again, no change. I tried running the cd without uninstalling it, but the software prompted me to remove the software and did not give me a repair option.

Please advise what I may try next. I really find the software useful and need your help, thanks.

Hi

. . . . I googled the .dll and uploaded new .dll files after having checked my computer (64bit) . . . .

Unless you re-installed the full Microsoft Visual C++ redistibutables this is unlikely to work and you run the risk of introducing unwanted 'extras' which may have been added to the files.

  1. Check which version(s) of the Microsoft Visual Studio C++ Redistibutables were installed on the same date as you installed Video Saver.

  2. Download the same versions of Microsoft x86 and x64 installers from Microsoft here.

  3. Uninstall the redistibutables that were installed with Video Saver, then reboot the computer.

  4. Install the new redistributables downloaded in step 2 then reboot the computer.
