Please, when you ask a question, tell us exactly what you are trying to do, what you did, and what happened. You are asking us to guess.

Are you trying to include an image in a message? If so, there is a button to press, see the image below. Click on it in the reply to a message or when creating a message, and you will see that only jpeg and jpg files are accepted. No, don't click on my image, it's just an image.

i went to upload media and clicked on bmp added title description keywords categories and other, but the message says "Images may be only uploaded as *.jpeg".

Ok, now I understand...almost. You say that you clicked on "bmp". Where do you see this? When I click on Upload for images and photos, the only choices are jpeg and jpg. So, you have to convert your files if you want to upload them.

ok, thank you johnny browny
