I cannot record any personal mix on the 2015 premium version.

singram94 wrote on 6/6/2015, 1:35 AM

I have a $2,500 dollar computer with 24 gigs of ram, 4th gen i7 processor with 1 tb hardrive 512 gb of which is ssd, everything running on 64 bit window 8.1. I have the most advanced computer money can buy. Why does this muisic maker suck soooooooo bad. Screw this thing I cannot record shit. Ive tried everything possible to record a personal mix. Im using the standard sounds that came with the music maker software. This is the worst music maker money can buy hands down. Im a very technical person if I can't get the software to work properly then its shit. If I cant create quality music on my computer then no one will, which makes this music maker worthless. You make music to be heard not with this music maker the music comes out glitchy. HOW DO I GET MY MONEY BACK. I'm soo mad right noiw ive spend hours trying to record something on the music mixers. I have it set on MIDI Record just like the tutorial video said, then i hit record & I start changing music / sound , then I try to play it back & all I get is silence. This is bad developement.

Hi

Despite being annoyed, ranting and raving will not help you get a solution to this problem.

. . . . If I cant create quality music on my computer then no one will . . .

On the contrary there are many people on this forum creating quality music using MMM - look in the Show and Discuss forum for examples.

If you are asking for help then this is what you should have posted:

. . . . I have a computer with 24 gigs of ram, 4th gen i7 processor with 1 tb hardrive 512 gb of which is ssd, everything running on 64 bit window 8.1. Ive tried everything possible to record a personal mix. Im using the standard sounds that came with the music maker software.  I have it set on MIDI Record just like the tutorial video said, then i hit record & I start changing music / sound , then I try to play it back & all I get is silence.

However you have not provided enough information.

. . . I start changing music / sound  ,. . .

Your post implies you are trying to change the standard soundpools sounds by setting MIDI record - this is not the way you change them.

Are you using a MIDI keyboard or computer keyboard playing one of the synthesizers or using the MIDI editor page?

Do you hear the synthesizer sounds when playing using the MIDI keyboard or computer keyboard, or, if using the MIDI editor, do you hear the notes as you place them on the timeline?

Come back with clear answers and then we may be able to help you.

Look at your sentence "...i hit record & I start changing music / sound..." What is that? When you hit record, you are supposed to play something on the keyboard; you don't change music/sound.

And "...I click on any sound type, clicked on speaker nothing." What sound type? what speaker? From what you say, I really don't understand what you are doing.

And "Im using the standard sounds that came with the music maker software." What standard sounds? How are you trying to use them? If they are Soundpool loops, then say so and indicate which ones. If instruments, indicate which ones and how you are trying to record.

How about posting screen shots of your recording and playback setup, and what you are trying to do?

Did you adjust the playback settings in MusicMaker and Windows? Screen shots would help us help you.

Did you watch my tutorial? MMM works, right?

Did you download and install the rest of the program under Help, Update program/Upgrade functions, Free synthesizer and sound packages?

Do you have an external keyboard connected to the computer through a USB port for recording midi? If so, did you turn it on before starting MMM? Did you set it as MIDI input in the program settings?

You do not recommend Magix software because YOU can't make it work on YOUR machine. Many thousands of people buy the software and it works with no problems.

If you want a refund, contact Magix on the Magix.com site, not us. We are all users here and no one here works for Magix.
