I cannot produce a sound with VST instruments

I've just bought Music Maker and am struggling with VSTi instruments.

If I activate any VSTi instrument I can only hear it if I hit play on the screen but I cannot use the on screen piano keyboard.

If I use record, the on screen keyboard records the notes but I can only hear them during playback.

How can I use the on screen keyboard (not the keyboard in the window that opens with each instrument) just to play or write a piece?

Can anyone help?

@jason-t Navigate to File > Settings > Program Settings > Audio/MIDI and select an ASIO driver, for example the Music Maker ASIO driver. Click on the Advanced button next to the driver selection to open the ASIO driver settings. Here you can select the audio input and output and set the ASIO buffer size to a reasonable value, for example 512 samples.

Thank you - I’ve been so close to that today but not close enough. I’ll try tomorrow.
