I cannot find "End Credits" in the MEP 2017+ titler. Where is it?

mojoaudioguru wrote on 10/10/2016, 10:31 PM

I need the "End Credits" in order to put end credits in a film that I just completed the post production on. I have MEP 2016 plus, but for some reason, it won't allow anything I've done on MEP 2017+ to open. (Unlike in the past, I was able to do that with MEP 2015+ from MEP 2016+, and vice versa) The "End Credits" still exist in MEP 2016+. But I can't find them in MEP 2017+ Anyone out there know where they're at in 2017+? I can't believe they would have gotten rid of them. Although, this is my first time having downloaded the software, as opposed to buying a hard copy. But, I did get a back-up copy not long ago. But I doubt that it would be on that. Anyone?

Hi,

Did you download all of the additional content? The program is just the first download and it prompts you when you first start MEP to get the get. Alternatively, click on Help, and somewhere on the menu should be something like additional content.

The boxed program is not the same and has everything on the CD.

Thanks for the assistance, browj2. But, I did download everything. All of the available online content. I've been using MAGIX for my videography business since 1999, and I have litterally all of the Video Deluxe versions, (Movie Edit Pro), since back then. I used to be able to use, or go back to, previous versions with projects, if a new version of the software didn't have something the previous version had. MEP 2017+ will not do that. I can't open this particular project in either MEP 2016+ or 2015+, in order to use the "End Credits" feature. There is, however, some sort of titling that goes from bottom to top, in MEP 2017+, but it takes too long to kick in, (Almost 7 seconds), and it goes too fast for the viewer to read, once it begins to scroll up. I've rendered two copies using that feature, and it comes out unacceptable. And, because of the lack of CUDA support, it takes forever to render them in AVCHD. I need to complete this project, asap. If you have any other ideas, (Or anyone else has), I'd appreciate your help and input.  Thanks again.

Hi

. . . . it takes too long to kick in, (Almost 7 seconds), and it goes too fast for the viewer to read, once it begins to scroll up . . . .

Depending on the animated title you choose you can change how fast the credits roll by stretching or shortening the title object using the Stretch mode ( 0 key ) of the mouse.

Assuming the first lines of the credits are not blank - which would delay the time the first credit appears - to get the credits to appear at the point you wish adjust the position of the title object on the timeline.

Alternatively you can roll your own by creating a static title with all the credits as you wish and then animate using keyframes.

Hi,

I just checked VPX, which is all I have with me and the credits along with others like it did not come with the package for some reason.

Check under

C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\the MEP program\Titles

Open the file: Translation_EN.ini

and search for credits. It is there but the txf file is missing. Look under the same location in MEP2016 and search for the txf file and the folder. If the folder with the same name is not in MEP2017, copy and paste it under.....Titles, then try MEP2017.

If the folder with the same name is in 2017, then copy the tfx into the folder. I don't think the folder is even there. Check that it is mentioned in the ini file.

Try it.

If it doesn't work, check the ini files in 2016 to see what is missing.

I am far from home and can't access my home computer so I can't help much more.

I would like to know what you find, as I am going to have to do the same thing. It's annoying when Magix drops some of these features from new versions.

Maybe John EB can help out here.

Hi

MEP has more scrolling credits than the older style credits available in MEP 2015.  However if the project uses the MEP 2015 credits or ant titles then files do need to be copied across as in the example below for Final credits .

There are two files to copy from MEP 2015 - see note below:

  1. credits.tfx file from

    C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro 2015 Premium\Titles\Standard

    into the folder

    C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro Premium\2017\Titles\Standard

Note the file path is slightly different

  2. credits.jpg from

    C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro 2015 Premium\Titles\Standard\Icons

    into the folder

    C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro Premium\2017\Titles\Standard\Icons

The Final credits title will then appear under Own in the titles categories as shown below.

Note: MEP 2016 was the first version with the new titles the same as are in MEP 2017

You can do this with any other titles that are present in MEP 2015 that you need in 2016 or 2017.

Thank you, both. I had no time to look for, or act on it any further, so I just created end-credit pages. It took longer than I wanted it to, but I had a deadline to meet. I will copy and past those files, however, in order to create 'My Own' end credits, in the future. I never thought about doing that. (I was in panacke mode) But, I will do that now, for future projects.  I just wish MAGIX would stop changing things when they release a newer version. They need to keep what works, and improve what doesn't, from previous versions, and add all the new things, without changing the old things, that all of us like and or employ. Sometimes I think I should just go to another software, and be done with it.
