I can no longer open this file.

Hello, I am trying to access this file that I have worked for several months on, but it will not open. I had to reboot my computer when it was open, and now when I try to open it, it comes up with an error saying that it can't be opened. I have checked for a backup file, but I can't seem to find backup files for any of my projects. I am composing this for someone, so fast responses will be greatly appreciated.

Below is the file.

Hi.

I confess to being somewhat confused!

You say you have a file, presumably you mean a MM Project file, which you now cannot open in MM. Is that correct?

However, the file you have linked for download is an .mp3, which I have downloaded and opened successfully, both in my audio player of choice, Adobe Audition, and as a track in MM. See below:

I've also checked the file with MediaInfo and see nothing "out of the ordinary", see below:

So, can you give us rather more detail about the problem you are experiencing?

I'm sorry, I linked to the wrong file. Here is the right one.

I have also edited the first comment to include this link.

@elias-breidenbach

Hi

The file cannot be read - which would suggest the file is corrupt - on comparison with other working MMM files there are sections of the file which 'look wrong'.

If you are running version 27.0.3.32 there is an issue with the auto backup not working - please raise a support ticket here.

Hello;

Did the program crash when the file is being saved? If you have this issue, then I don't think, sadly, that the file would be read again. :(

I'm having the same problem in Magix Music Maker 2020 now and I have had this problem multiple times on another computer with Magix Music Maker 2003. I've lost my entire project now and it seems this bug is something they have had for many years but they can't seem to fix.

In my case Magix Music Maker randomly shuts itself down without a message in both versions on multiple computers in multiple Windows versions. If this happens at the time you're saving your project it will get corrupted. My settings should be making a backup file every 10 minutes but I realise now it didn't create 1 backup file.
