I bought my magix movie edit pro 18 months ago and registered then now wants me to register again

I bought my magix movie edit pro 18 months ago and registered then. Now the software tells me to register, won't allow me to update and when I try register it tells me I have already registered.

I cannot seems to update and I am getting crashes trying to burn a DVD.

Very frustrated and angry that I am expected to pay to have a problem fixed on this software which is not of my doing. Besides the crash which may be an error I have why is it asking me to register again.

Hi

MEP is asking again because the registration information on your computer has disappeared.  Typical causes are:

- Using software for cleaning the registry and/or removing unwanted/orphaned files?

- Installing  MEP for the logged on user, then changing the computer account used to run MEP.

- A major Windows security update has altered some settings.

Ok, that makes sense as I often run registry cleaner to keep my system running. Question now is why won't your system allow me to register, says already registers and I have to quit.

What do I do on my side to stop the system from asking me to register?

Do I need to uninstall and reinstall to fix this?

Thanks

Gerald

Hi

You have to contact sales at Magix and explain what has happened, they should then be able to sort you out.

I avoid registry cleaners unless it is absolutely necessary to use one.  I use CCleaner if necessary but restrict its actions as to what it can/cannot remove and always make it do a back up of the registry before actually cleaning anything from it.
