Hi

Can you be more specific on the software name that you are trialling - do you mean Video Easy HD?

All trial versions of Magix software have some limitations such as missing codecs or restricted export times.

. . . . My camera records in MP4 and when I attempted to burn a sample DVD, I got an error message that MPEG-2 is not available because of licensing conditions. . . . .

The mp4 and mpg codecs are licensed to Magix and must be paid for either by buying the full product or as an additional purchase depending on which product and version you are eventually buy.

. . . . I also have video in .mov . . . .

You ust have the latest version of Quicktime installed on your computer.

Depending on your future intentions with video editting etc  I would suggest you also  trial Movie Edit Pro - this has more functionality than Video Easy HD and will enable you to have more control over the editting and creation process.  However is does have a steeper learning curve if you have not done any video editting before.

If and when you decide MEP is better for you then purchase at least the Plus version - most of the codecs you will need are included.
