I am new to Magix and am having playback issues while recording vocals. There is distortion while playing back tracks and vocals. Could someone tell me some reasons why this might be happening? I am using ASIO sound card and an Apex usb mic.

The problem is playback issues while recording.  The problem occurs when playing back tracks and recordings.  I am using the ASIO soundcard that came with my laptop.  I am using Windows 10, and Magix Music Maker 2016 Live.  I like the program but I really need to resolve the recording issues and make sure that it is just a lack of knowledge in terms of being new to this program. Im not sure that my latency, buffering, and device settings are causing me problems as well.

Im new to the software as well, but I do a podcast so I have some knowledge. Can you quickly tell me your set-up?  Also, in your start menu- programs, do you see voice or audio recorder?  If so can you try and record something there

Hi,

Both of you should watch this tutorial on Getting Started with MusicMaker 2015. It also pertains to 2016.

Did you install Windows 10 before installig MusicMaker? If not, then you should see the first tutorial under the Tutorials tab.

When you mention tracks, what exactly do you mean? Soundpools that come with the program? Your own recordings?

Did you adjust the input volume of you mic in Windows Recording devices? Click on the gear beside the record button, click on Peak control to open the Windows recording devices, double-click on your mic, levels tab, and reduce the level to something that works.

If that doesn't work, then post a screen shot of your input parameters, both the setup in MMM and in Windows and under Program settings, Audio/Midi tab.

What are your settings under Program settings, Audio/Midi? What Asio driver are you using?
