I am trying to get ride of the sound in a .mov file by opening the file, muting the sound and then saving it. It is a 48 meg file at the start and when it saves it it creates ave a 3 gig file before I cancel the process. I have tried saving different formats, etc., they all do the same. I am running SF version 10 on windows 10 32 gig ram, solid state drives, i7, 7th gen processor.

Sound Forge cannot remove or rewrite an imbedded audio without re-rendering the video (resulting in quality loss). However the new 'Sound Forge Audio Studio 12' allegedly has the ability to do this but I have not tried it. QuickTime Pro ($30) can also mux/de-mux a <.mov> file without affecting the video. There are free muxer utilities available that work well, but I'm not sure which supports the .mov file type. I use MeGUI for MP4 files, don't know if it works with .mov. types.
