How to use the ".mxcogg" file type with other DAWs?

Recently I purchased the Stranger Synths soundpool pack. In the description of the product it said "In Music Maker, or any other Digital Audio Workstation (DAW)" it would be compatible, but after downloading it through the magix music maker software all the files are in a .mxcogg file format. This is not much use to me because these files are not compatible with Ableton live 9. How do I get these files into a compatible format (.wav,.ogg etc) without corrupting them. ?

(I am also not very familiar with magix software only downloaded it to purchase this pack)

Hi,

The mxcogg files only work with a recent version of MusicMaker, including the free one. Soundpools come with up to 7 different pitches. If you look at how to use these in MusicMaker, you will see that using the loops in a different DAW is not very easy, even if they worked.

The only thing that you can do is to export each loop from Magix Maker, one by one, to wav or ogg, and use the exported file.

Man that is very annoying, and misleading advertising. I wouldn't have purchased it if I knew this but it specifically said it would work with other DAWs.

Where did you see that these would work with other DAWs - other than Magix DAWs like Samplitude?

In the description of the website I initially saw it on (humblebundle.com) it said "A Soundpool consists of multiple audio building blocks in the form of sounds and loops (i.e. beats, bass, melodies or vocals) for a musical genre. In Music Maker, or any other Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), you can combine sounds and loops any way you want. ". (I'm sure I saw this somewhere else too but I'm not sure where .)

Also on the official magic site on this sound pool it says "All audio files are available in lossless WAV format (16 bit/ 44.1 kHz/ Stereo)"

Hi there,

Sorry, I realize this thread is somewhat older, and you may have already contacted MAGIX support about this. If not, please consider doing so. Unfortunately, the information about the terms of this item communicated on the Humble Bundle website was incorrect at the time. If you purchased that Humble Bundle offer, we will sort you out with an alternative option to obtain the soundpool content in question in an unprotected format to be used in the DAW of your choice.

Cheers!

Hi, I'm using Music Maker 2020 with online loops. Can you please sort me out with an alternative options to get wavs of all those samples I downloaded through the store? They're also in that format and the only way to get them to work with other DAW is to export every single one, it takes a lot of time to do that. Thank you in advance.

If you're downloading these loops in the context of a "Loops Unlimited" subscription, there is no way to download them in WAV format and use them in other DAWs. The DRM concept of the soundpool subscription rests on the use of the MXCOGG crypted loops. Anything else would undermine the subscription model's concept. Or, in other words: Loops Unlimited is currently a feature exclusive to MAGIX Music Maker. It doesn't even extend to other MAGIX DAWs at the moment, let alone third-party DAWs. Sorry.

Ok, I understand. Thank you for taking the time to explain. Best regards.
