How do you upload to YouTube? How do you connect your account?

When I click on the share button after my song is finished and click 'publish online' upload to YouTube and upload to Facebook are greyed out and I cant click on them (I want to upload to YouTube). When I go to Export under File and click 'common export options' there is an upload to YouTube button there too, when I click on it nothing happens. I am wondering if you have to connect your account first but I don't know how. Any help is appreciated! (I am using MAGIX music maker live)

Hi

You need to set up the account details for Youtube - see under Share, Manage login details . . . before the links become live

To avoid other issues please read this article - in particular the note, referring to Youtube, approximately half way down the page. You need the correct licence if YT adverts appear on your uploaded page or channel.

Also note that some users here have been subject to copyright claims from others where soundpools have been used to create music. The copyright of the Soundpools belongs to Magix, or the soundpools original author. Copyright is not transferred to the user - only a license to use the soundpools under the terms and conditions of the licence purchased - those that come with Music Maker are for personal use only and cannot be used commercially as define in the article linked to above.

So if I upload the song to YouTube, MAGIX controls the copyrights and I have to announce it? Or do I have to have the license no matter what?

Also, I did what you said and it still wont let me upload to YouTube... Strange...

Hi

. . . . upload the song to YouTube, MAGIX controls the copyrights . . . .

If you use any Soundpool loop then you cannot claim copyright.

The only way you can claim copyright to a piece of music is for it to be an original composition by yourself and contains

  • recordings of you playing the above composition on a musical instrument, eg guitar piano etc.

  • recordings of you playing the above composition using MMM;s built in synthesizers either by MIDI keyboard or using the MIDI editor but not the default melodies each instrument loads.

  • live vocal recordings by yourself.

  • any combination of the above three

. . . . it still wont let me upload to YouTube . . . .

Apologies forgot to mention that the music must be uploaded to YT as a music video. You need to add a video clip to the timeline - the video must be one of the following formats:

AVI, Windows Media (*.wmv, *.asf), MAGIX Video (*.mxv) or Quicktime Movie
(*.mov)

Note for MOV you would need Quicktime essentials installed, however it is not clear if the Quicktime security bug also affects Essentials.

Okay, how do I put the video clip onto the track?

johnebaker wrote on 3/18/2017, 5:39 AM

Hi

. . . . Okay, how do I put the video clip onto the track? . . . .

Use the File Manager tab to locate a video, in a supported format - see my post above - and drag it to an empty track.

I would also advise you to read the installed PDF manual available under Help

So, slightly off topic, referring to this license, I read the article and I just want to clear something up. I uploaded a video using MAGIX loops and I made it clear that you cant use this song in your video and I am not going to use it in any commercial advertisements. However, YouTube says this on the audio page: Your video has copyrighted audio that may affect its availability or result in ads being shown. While no action is required, if you wish to edit your video to address this, then you can attempt to remove the Content ID claimed song (below), or overlay new audio (right).

It also shows a song that has apparently a same track in it as mine.

Is it still okay to use my music for non commercial uses on YouTube even though YouTube says that parts of it are copyrighted?
