How to sync video and audio during editing

I am brand new to this editing thing. Have MEP 15. I imported a video that I recorded and cut it into the parts I wanted and now the audio does not match the video. How do I fix this?

There can be gradual gradual sync drifts, particularly in older version of MEP like yours, but your description sound more serious. Did you maybe ungroup the audio from the video at some point? They should import grouped together and remain in sync after cutting. Perhaps other users have some further sugestions?
