How to successfully upgrade to music maker 15 premium from boxed

I bought the retail boxed version of mm 15 and then paid for the online upgrade through the help area within the program. I put the code in and the program did not change at all. Have uninstalled and reinstalled several times with no results. The program will not accept a code again. Even tried downloading the trial version and putting in the code that magix incuded in my email tech support for the issue. This failed to work as well. Since magix cannot or will not help me with this, is there anyone out there that has any ideas. I paid for something I cannot use and cannot get ANY STRAIGHT ANSWERS.

I don't know why your code did not seem to work in the first place.  There may be two possibilities.

Did you type the code in the box, or did you "cut & paste" the code from your email?

It's possible your anti-virus program is interferring with the process.  This seems to be a very common issue with those who purchase the full download version of MM-15 Premium.

I also upgraded from the boxed version of MM-15.  The only issues I experienced had to do with the complete and proper installation of the soundpools.

It seems that the uninstall does not remove ALL of the program files from your computer.  Apparently, it leaves behind either an .ini or .cfg file that interferes with any other attempts to reload the program, including activation with the code.

The first thing I would do is to uninstall any and all versions you have loaded.

Then, in Windows Explorer, do two searches of the entire C: drive for any files with these names (*musicmaker* and *music_maker*) and delete those too. (Be sure to include the asterisks.)

Now, you should be able to reload the program from the DVD and do a clean upgrade to the Premium version.  Good luck.
