How to stop Magix advertising popups

Recycler wrote on 2/20/2023, 4:12 AM

I used Magix video editing software for many years until I discovered Da Vinci Resolve. I have uninstalled anything I could find that was anything to do with Magix, but still I get irritating popups (example attached). Does anyone please have a modern "clear all unwanted Magix bits from a PC" program? I remember one of the Johns (Baker perhaps?) referred to such a thing back in the mists of time.

Sorry to distract you all. I would send this request direct to Magix central but of course they push me out to this Forum. Luckily I had a (dusty) record of my UserID/password.

Thanks for any help. - Mike -

@Recycler

Hi Mike

The popups would be the Magix Connect, also known as Magix Cloud Import, Connect, Update notifier, Network Sync feature.

To completely remove the program use Revo Uninstaller free - it will scan for leftovers and allow you to remove them.

Do note if you are uninstalling MEP/VPX as well and you still have other Magix programs carefully read through the leftovers that it suggests to delete and ensure they apply to MEP/VPX

I remember using Revo for this purpose in the past, but clearly I wasn't meticulous enough in finding every bit of Magix marketing ! I'll have another go.

Many thanks. - Mike -
