How to Select Audio in Between Markers in Sound Forge Pro 16 on PC?

Andrew-Pitcher wrote on 2/12/2023, 1:44 PM

Hello, recently I have upgraded from Sound Forge Pro 14 to Sound Forge Pro 16. I am using the most current version and build (16.1.3 – Build 68) running Windows 10.

Up until using SFP 16, I would insert markers on different points of time in a project that I would want to edit, and then double left click in between those markers to select the audio in between them for editing.

In SFP 16, this method of editing no longer works. ☹

Is there a way to enable this feature in SFP 16, or another way to efficiently select audio in between the markers I insert into projects?

I have been using Sound Forge products since 1999 on Windows PC’s and have been using this method of selecting the audio in between markers for many years. I find it odd that this way of editing has changed, lol.

I sincerely appreciate any help, tips, and workarounds for my question.

Thank you!

Hi @Andrew-Pitcher, if you double-click the region... really really fast, it should highlight. I noticed this abnormally back in March 2022 and notified the devs. I guess they forgot about it or are working on fixing the other issues.

Hi @rraud, many thanks for your fast response! I had a feeling it was a glitch in SFP 16 that was causing this issue, lol.

For now, do you know of any keyboard shortcuts or any other ways to do this that are as efficient?

Also, maybe you can re-ping the devs on the issue when you get a chance to remind them that others have reported this issue as well.

Thanks, again for your help :-)

'Click and drag' ...or... click the start point, hold the 'Shift' key and click the end point' (both are relatively quick and easy)

Keyboard.. place the cursor on the start point, hold the 'Shift' key and use left or right arrow keys... (easy but slow).

Hold down CTRL and press RIGHT scroll to get to the first marker (assuming it is on the right) them press CTRL SHIFT together and right scroll key to select the area between 2 markers - hope this helps
