Theuns-Serfontein wrote on 9/17/2024, 3:21 PM

Hi There

I am New Here on this Forum.

A Friend of mine Ryfox that I met in my Vegas Forum

Did Buy "Movie Studio Suit " for me so I still learn how to use it at this moment.

I would like to know how you Resize and move Image Objects around.

like the arow in the foto below and why does it fill my whole Video and attach it

to my video above it. I can't move it without the video above it ?

Regards Theuns

Hi Theuns,

I don't know why Magix has this by default.

When you see more than 2 objects get selected when you select 1, they are grouped. Click on the Ungroup (Shift+G) button in the toolbar above the timeline. Now you can move the arrow object separately and change the duration.

Then, select the arrow, go to Effects, View/Animation, Size/Position/Rotation and resize and move the arrow.

See my tutorials on the Size/Position/Rotation effect for more:

@browj2, John, I don't have to ungroup, all I need to do is click the arrow track and then apply SPR to it; MMS 2025.

You do need to ungroup though if you want to delete the arrow (and, of course, regroup the audio if there is any).

I'm still stunned we can't rotate by dragging a corner...

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.

Hi Al,

I am assuming that Theuns also wants to move the object around separate from the video.

@browj2

John, you can move it in MMS2025 without ungrouping ie without affecting the video, as long as you have highlighted (I should say MORE highlighted 😂) the arrow.

Hi Al,

No, I mean moving the object itself on the timeline and changing the duration, separate from the video clip to which it was grouped. You have to ungroup it. You can use the Alt key to change the duration independent of the video clip, but you can't trim, etc. without ungrouping.

And I want more than one arrow. You can't copy the arrow object using Ctrl+C and dragging unless it is ungrouped.

If you have a 5 minute video clip and you want a 10 second arrow a few times, normally one would just import the image (arrow) put it somewhere, change the duration and then SPR.

You can always group the objects later.
