Hi,

Pending more info I'll take a guess. The only way I could get rough edges was by initially using a small font size, say Arial 10 and then dragging it much larger.

Hi Terry

I have just tried that in MEP 17, MX and 2013 and my text font size resizes with dragging the text box handles! Unless of course you are doing it differently

The only exception is in MEP 2013 when this option is unchecked and then the text stays at its initial size.

Hi John,

Sorry, I wasn't as clear as I should have been.

It was a longshot but I thought maybe the OP hadn't realised you could resize by dragging within the Title Editor and had done it in Size/Position. That gave me a result like this:

Not really 'jagged' though, so I think this is probably a red herring.

Hi Terry

Aha - a different method for doing the resizing - I was using the handles in the text editor section, you are using the Sixe/Position in Effects.

Your method does indeed introduce sub standard text as shown below

To clarify

@ gregnewgent

If you are resizing the title using Effects, Movement Effects, Size and Position you will get poor text definition and, depending on the font used, jaggies.

To resize text you must be in the Text editor, see image below, where you can change the font size or drag the object handles - the orange squares on the corners and centre of the sides of the  dotted frame around the text  side that appear when you select the text tobject in the preview monitor see Terry's image in his answer

(This is the editor from MEP MX)

@ Terry

Never see a herring looking like that at the fish mongers

Hi Greg

Are you using the MEP basic Title editor as in John and Terry's examples or are you using Xara 3D.

Also do you have ticked, the option in "Program Settings > System > Other" that reads "High output quality for dynamic zoom and combination effects". From the MEP Help files  "The Title Editor is used in high resolution by default. The display quality of titles is improved, but this also results in longer loading times for movies".

Peter
