Hello, I did a 5 hour recording of a wedding that  I then transferred to MEP13, I edited the movie and made it look really nice with nice subtitle and background, the problem came when I had to record to DVD, the first two DVD I recorded ok after each took like 3 tries and about 9 hours to record each.. this last one I cant seem to get to record, gives me error of abort and encoding error 5. I have a pc window vista at home. Also gave me a message of encode, encode all, use, use all... I am really stuck and this is my last DVD that I need to burn I think, can someone please help me?

mari,

I've never done such a large project but a friend regularly does quite long ones and he simply makes a separate project for each DVD. Further, he generally works on only one or two DVD chapters as a project and exports each. Only when nearly finished does he join the chapter exports together for a DVD, perhaps adding a bit of bridging audio etc so that playing the full DVD has no obvious breaks..

Even with a lot of RAM there are limits as to how much material MEP can deal with at one go. I suspect your nine  hours were spent rendering the entire film even if you ended up only burning part of it onto the first two DVDs. When you go to burn the next ones MEP already has the files ready -- that's what the 'encode all' or 'use all' messages are about.
