How to record a 2nd track without also recording the 1st track?

I want to record a 2nd track without adding in the music from the 1st track onto the 2nd track. I.e. monitor the audio from track 1 while recording a new track on track 2. How do I do this?

You will need to do a "playback while recording" which is a feature selection in the Record Parameter options.

Assuming track one is ready for its playback and you are ready to record to the next track, you will then arm the next track by pressing the [REC] button on that track. This tells the program, put the recorded material here.

You also need to make sure that your recording device (sound card) is correctly setup. This requires more information, since Microphone recording uses a different port of the sound card then does Line-In recording. The proper device needs to be selected through Windows to be sure that the recording is set.

If this is a microphone recording, you should use headphones so you do not pick up sound from the speakers during playback.
