Hi,

Did you download using any special software that came with your (unspecified) camera?

Can you play them with any of your video players?

I tried eight downloaded sample MXF files and found that four of them imported OK into MEP 2013 but the other four failed, with no message. Presumably a codec issue.

If you can upload your smallest example to a host (I use Dropbox) maybe we can try a few conversion tools.

Meanwhile, if you have VLC, try its conversion feature, perhaps to MPEG.

Hi

@Terry

. . . . Presumably a codec issue. . . . .

That is most likely because the mxf file format like MP4, MOV, AVI etc is a container file format and can contain any codec.

@ victormal

. . . . i did try to change the format to AVI . . .

What software did you use?

Can you analyse a clip from the camera with GSpot - this will tell you what the internal codecs are and if they are installed on your computer.

It is old software however it uses all the available codecs on your PC, does not add any codecs, works with WIndows 8.1 and does tell you if rendering is possible if you select the buttons 1, 2 etc under MS/AV bottom left of the GSpot screen  - just because the codecs are installed does not necessarily mean they can be used by MEP.

Also note that if you can play the video with Windows Media Player this also does not mean MEP can use the WMP codecs.
