How to optimize Movie Edit Pro

Hello to all.

Please tell me how I can maximum optimize Magix Movie Edit pro to use all power of lots of RAM. I need all things to be written to the RAM instead of hard drive. I want to write to hard drive only the end file when rendering.

Where is the option to change the place of cache and swap location of Magix.

I also want to put everything to RAM drive, please let me know where it records all the data. Thank you.

Stardur643,

The [Y] key brings up 'Program settings' and the default tab is 'usually 'Path settings' where you can specify drives and folders for various items like store for projects, recordings and disc images. I've not got a RAM drive, but I've used USB drives and network drives a bit in the past (convenience not speed!) and would assume that a RAM drive can be specified there.

Internals like caches are probably hard coded into the program and not user alterable though they might well be linked to windows settings. Eg can you use a RAM drive for Windows paging files?

Have you done any speed tests? There's not much sense worrying about using a RAM drive if the rate the program is read/writing data, not the media, is the limiting factor.

Regards,

Carl

When I am rendering large movies I use task manager to stop all programs that I don't need - I also cut the internet connection and switch off the anti virus.

I find that this makes a significant difference to rendering speed.
