Assuming you're using Magix Movie Studio, go to the movie settings (key E) and from the Video settings dropdown, choose "Social media", then in the dropdown below that, "vertical". That will give you a 9:16 format.
Magix may give you a message about changing the monitor to fit the new settings; click Adjust.
Now, import your video and use the Section effect to crop your video to fully-fit into the 9:16 format. Note, if you're original video is landscape, you'll lose a lot of video on the sides of the section/crop.
In addition to @AAProds comment, see this tutorial for a couple of issues you may have when importing video into the project - this was created in an older version of Movie Edit Pro, now called Movie Studio which did not have the preset social media project settings - however you may come across the same issues.
If and when you get MS2023 installed, when you start the project, just select the format that you want:
The one for Instagram Stories should do it. Just remember to reset it the next time you create a new project with a different format; MS remembers the last settings.
