How to make 50x50 pixel gif?

mustangspirit wrote on 7/26/2011, 3:10 AM

I have Movie Edit Pro 16. I've been trying for several hours to make a 50x50 pixel .gif avatar for a website.

To no avail. Everytime I put in 50 in the boxes and press "okay", it automatically takes it away and changes it to 48x48 pixels.

I'm ready to punch the computer, break it into pieces, and flush it down the toilet.

Please help.

I think it must have something to do with ratio, I am unable to get it to do a 49x49, 50x50, 51x51, but I can do a 48x48 and a 52x52.

So, I think it has to do with ratio... mathematically that is...

But save your computer, I do not think it has anything to do with that at all.

Hi

Can you detail the procedure you are using to create the 50x50 oixel avatar.

Is the avatar a still gif are you trying to create an animated gif from a movie clip?

I would consider it animated - still pictures with transitions. The pictures are all 50x50 pixels.

Hi

I have experimented with creating a 50x50 movie and avatar (animated gif) and have no problem exporting to this size if

You set these movie settings

And these the export settings

Note the movie settings match the final animated gif size.  Trying any other movie sizes bigger than the final gif required results in odd sizes as you have experienced

I followed your directions to the T and it still puts in 48 after I type 50 then press enter on the export screen.

Before I press "enter" to put in 50x50 for export size...

After...
