How to import VOICE audio file, without it being affected by BPM?

Hi. I'm involved with an audio book project. This means importing in a LOT of voice audio files, with several music tracks alongside. The music is straight from M:MM, so that comes in nicely. However, when I drag an voice audio file in, it can randomly be perfect, or slow .. or fast. They were all recorded at the same voice speed (so they shouldn't vary), but somehow the BPM/Tempo keeps varying with each file.

I know I can press J to initiate the Beatmapper (not that I need it for voice audio), or double-click file and adjust Tempo. But that can be a pain over several hundred file snippets (and leads voice variance and inconsistencies).

Is there a way to import audio without it be affected by project BPM setting? ie immunity of sorts?

Thanks in advance. :)

@Film.Maker Have you checked the sample rate of your project and of the audio files? A difference, for example between 44100 Hz and 48000 Hz, is definitely noticeable in playback speed.

@Film.Maker

Hi,

Try this. In the Program Settings, Import tab, uncheck "Automatically adjust samples to BPM" or check "For patched samples only."
