How to get sampletank to work in Music Maker 17 premium

arvz wrote on 1/23/2011, 2:44 AM

I'm trying to use Sampletank 2.5 with Music Maker 17 Premium. Some other VSTs (such as cakewalk studio instrument) works but Sampletank wont show up in software instruments list. I installed Sampletank to a folder which I have specified in Music Maker.

Sampletank does work in other audio software that I have

Win7 32bit

Any suggestion?

Hi,

If sample tank is vsts plugin you should put that in the Music Maker Basic/Synth folder then Click "Y" Key on Music Maker then click on Folder tab refer screen shot from MMM 16 Premium

click on Red marked 2 Add vst plug in path then browse synth folder locate your vst may be with dll extension click on it finally click OK. I think if you restart your music maker it should be added in the synthesizer not instruments list.

I hope Music Maker 17 is same as MMM 16 Premium with some additional features therefore, the above method should work well. For further help send message.

Thank you

Additional: Music Maker is not DAW do not compare it with Cakewalk, Cubase or other DAW

Hi nihon,

I have actually already tried exactly what you said there unfortunately it still hasnt worked.

Even if MM17 is not a DAW it still supports VSTs so technically sampletank should work

OIC, I guess you must update your Music Maker 17 as you are using with Windows7 there lies the problem. I am sure you will get update patch for MMM 17. After I am sure your problem must be solved. You can check update on Magix website or from Music Maker. I will advice go to web sign in and check.

I rememer when MMM 17 was new and people who use Windows 7 always complained here.

Try your luck. In the meantime contact magix support and explain your problem.

Thank you

Well, I've installed SampleTank 2.5 FREE and tried to use it in MM-15 with no luck.  They say it can be used as a VST plug-in, but there is no '.dll" file provided.  I chose that as an option during installation.  They say there's no difference between the free and purchased versions other than the size of the sample pool.

I even tried the ReWire agent, but all I get then is an error message.  (Yet another feature in MMM that just doesn't work!)

When you install ST2.5 it asks where you want to install the vst plugin to. That's where the dll file went for me. The problem is MM17 just wont see it

Thanks for the tip.  I guess I was asleep at the wheel the first two times I installed it.  It works fine for me now.

It installed the SampleTank2.x.dll and Sampletank2.x.ini files in my 'Synth' folder.  I had the rest of the files saved elsewhere on the C: drive.
