How to get in use edited positioning and zooming of a project?

Jaakkovaakko wrote on 12/27/2015, 8:25 AM

My action-cam (GoPro Hero3) has been on its site when recording.  I succeeded in turning the scene 90 degrees, no problem there.  But now the scene is on the vertical position.  I want to take in use only a part of it, which is very easy to do in "preview" mode using "zoom in and positioning" commands.  Is it possible to save the positioning and zooming done in the preview-window in my project?  My editing program is Magix Movie Edit Pro 2016, the computer is using Windows8.  And I'm quite a newcomer with editing...

Hi,

In the dialog screen for size position, there is button that toggles between Preview and Edit. If it says Edit, click on it and you will see the dashed line around the object. Make sure that you have selected the object that you see on the screen. Now you can drag the box around or grab a corner and resize the image.

To see beyond the border of the window, open the menu for the preview monitor, upper left, I believe and you will see that you can zoom out the window to see beyond the edges to be able to drag your image beyond the border.

You should take a look at my tutorial on Getting Started with Movie Edit Pro 2015 under the Tutorials tab to make sure that you have everything.

Thank you John!

It was under the command "section" (in process of size and position) where I could draw the borders exactly like I wanted, and could save the scene as I wished.

May be there had been the right instructions in the book I have or in the internet-manual, but English is not my natural language and I'm not so familiar with editing, but I will be better day after day...

Anyway, the problem I had is now solved out, thank you very much for your help!

Glad to see that you have sorted it out. Section is a bit difficult to comprehend at first, but it is really just a cropping tool. Then you go to the Size/Position effect.
