Hi Jack,

You can't. It's a video editor. However, if you get Xara Designer Pro X or Xara Photo & Graphics Designer, then...

and also

Edit: there are other ways to add lines and shapes if they are transparent png files - just add them. They can be resized and repositioned, amongst other effects, inside of MEP.

Wow! Trying to learn video and video editing at 80 seems to be a chore. I have tried all I can think of to animate a travel route and it was here all the time. Which program do you recommend? Cost is not a problem and I can't thank you enough for both the answer and the videos. How can I link to the videos to have them for reference as I slowly learn this program?

Again, thank you and please stay safe.

Hi Jack,

Travel route animation? With Movie Edit Pro Plus/Premium and Video Pro X, you get Travel Maps, no need for Xara to do the animation. You will like this! Here is an example of the output from the previous version. The new version is even better.

I suggest Movie Edit Pro Premium unless you want the higher end, Video Pro X, which is what I use. You can always start with Movie Edit Pro Premium and then move up in a year. You can download the trial versions. There are some limitations and you don't get the additional content, but you can at least make sure that the program works on your computer.

You can see the comparison here.

Here is a link to a message containing links to a bunch of tutorials, including mine.

At 80, you'll fit right in. Most of us here are 70 +/-10. Learning to edit video/photos takes some patience, something I think that we've developed as we get older. The important thing is to get those videos out before we reach our expiry date.

I have been using Magix Video Edit Pro since 2013 and currently have the 2022 edition. Just after taking a year off for medial treatment, I have forgotten much.

I shall order the Video Pro X today and, if you will let me know your channel, subscribe and enjoy your tutorials.

You have been super helpful. My many thanks.
