How To Disable Scissors Tool?

dwstuck wrote on 5/22/2015, 12:05 AM

Trying to get used to the ACL 2016 program (after using many previous).

For some reason, my 'cut' (scissors) tool is always active when I move the cursor to my recorded tracks. I can't get it to switch back to the regular pointer cursor. Clicking the scissor icon doesn't do it, nor does using the control-X command. Very frustrating.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

I assum you mean the auto crossfade? Just deactivate it in the options menu.

No, I mean the icon that appears when you hover over your recorded media. It will cut the track where you click. But what if I don't want to?  My auto-crossfade is not enabled.

In ACL 2013, there was a standard 'arrow' cursor in the row of icons to the left of the play/stop buttons. The arrow cursor was the default & you could switch back and forth as needed. In ACL 2015 there is only a scissors icon, an X icon and a flag icon.

for some reason, scissors is the default when starting the program, or a new project and I can't figure a way to disable/enable it. Clicking the scissor icon (to the left of 'Play') only cuts the track at whatever position you happen to be.

thanks,

Dave

Hi,

I took this up with Magix in a previous version. Try Options, mouse mode to get it back to normal. Pressing V may also set it back to normal.

Thanks John. I'll give that a try when I get home.
