How to create a CD to play on CD player

Louis-Cramer wrote on 9/1/2018, 10:44 AM

Using a Dell laptop running WIN10 and MusicMaker ver 27.0.016, SpeedburnR creates a folder with a "WAV" file.

File started with is found on pc at "user\Folder1\Folder2\Folder3\Folder4| Relief.mmm"

File created on is CD "user\Folder1\Folder2\Folder3\Folder4| Relief.wav"

get meassage on CD player " Cannot play this disk"

How do I get SpeedburnR to only put the "WAV" file on the CD so CD player will start playing?

Hi

. . . . to only put the "WAV" file on the CD . . . .

AFAIK there is no CD player that supports wav files, some can play mp3 files from a data CD, however if the cd player does not support mp3 playback from cd then you must create an audio cd not a data cd

You need a different program to create an audio cd such as ImgBurn see here - note your audio files will also have to be in mp3 format.

Music Maker can Import audio from "Audio CDs ."

Music Maker can burn directly to CD disk and DVD disk , MUST purchase the "CD DVD burn" feature .

it says it can burn an entire album to CD disk and DVD disk ,...I am assuming that implies "Audio CD" , even though Magix's text description does NOT say : "Audio CD"

to make a quality Audio CD , only use PCM .wav files as source audio . 16 bit 44.1 khz .

Hi

There is no need to spend $$

ImgBurn (free) and Windows Explorer can both burn data discs if that is what you want.

To use Windows Explorer see this article.

I simply export my creations as mp3 or wav to my hard drive, then load (drag) them into i-tunes. Organise the tunes you want into a playlist, then 'burn playlist to disc'.

Should have said, I'm working in Music Maker Premium.

EDIT - having been chastised by Johnebaker below, I'll adapt my reply. Copy the wav file (or files) from the cd to your hard drive - then drag it into an I-player playlist and 'burn playlist to disc'. (I am assuming you have I-player in this solution). You will have a playable cd, but no it won't be a wav file.

@Nickillus

Hi

Please re-read the OP's original post - the issue is with a CD not being recognised by a CD player.

A CD burned properly with Speed burn'R should work. I'm not able to try it and haven't done so for a long time, but from what I recall, it worked.

Here is what is in the manual. Note that there are 2 different ways, but you have to have either Plus or Premium giving access to Music Editor:

"To burn an audio CD, first export your project as a WAV file: • Click "File" and select the "Export project -> Audio as wave..." option.  The WAV file created can be burned as an audio CD with the included burn program MAGIX Speed burnR.
Tip: You can use an integrated CD mastering tool in the Live & Premium edition and a burn program to do this. Click on "File" and select the option "Export project -> Burn audio CD-R(W)" to export your project. The project will be loaded into the CD mastering program MAGIX Music Editor and can be burned straight to disc from there.
"

Music Editor 3 is like Audio Cleaning Lab and Audio & Music Lab in that you create the playlist, give names, etc. ME3 can also be opened as a standalone and you can import wave files and burn them to an audio CD. Just remember, the format on an audio CD is not wave.

while in Music Maker , import .wav files to time line . Right click on a time line audio media to open context menu . -->More Options -->Edit in External Editor . Magix's "Music Editor 3" should open . it has options to burn audio CD . I have not tried it , but it says it can do it . this is with MM25.1.3.84 Premium 2018

you can also find it at :

E:\Program Files (x86)\MAGIX\Music Maker\25\MusicEditor\MusicEditor.exe

you might find it in :

C:\Program Files (x86)\MAGIX\Music Maker\27\MusicEditor\MusicEditor.exe

( if you want to make a Red Book audio CD-ROM disk , same as a store bought Audio CD disk , you need to use : PCM .wav source files at 16 bit 44.1 khz . .Period the end. do NOT use .mp3 )

Thru Windows player or Music Editor 3, I can burn a CD as a CDA file which gives me what I need. Thanks to everyone
