How to copy audio tape to mp3 via Kaiser Baas Vinyl Converter

I have a very old Kaiser Baas Vinyl Converter. (Model either N1879 or maybe B130804 or maybe KBA03024 - that's the best I can make out from the very faded label on the back of the actual converter box for the in/out leads). This can be used for either tapes or vinyl discs.

I'm trying to convert an audio cassette tape into mp3 format, but I cannot get any recording level displayed - just a totally flat (blank) line on the screen. However, I can hear through the computer speaker the (slightly hissy) sound of the voice. (The cassette plays the sound of the voice perfectly on a regular cassette player.)

Below is a very small screen print of my computer screen ( you can enlarge it to make it more readable with ctrl + scroll)

In the main RECORDING box, there is no recording level being shown. On the Marker box, I've selected TAPE.

On the Audio Input, Sound Card settings I've tried with both MME and WDM Driver systems but neither of them make any difference.

On the main Audio Input box, Windows Mixer, I selected LINE and that shows the varying sound level while the recorded tape is playing, and the Speakers Playback (for the computer) also shows a varying sound level - which I can hear through the computer speaker.

The computer is running Windows 7 and there is plenty of free space on the hard disk.

The dialogue boxes on the screen don't allow me to change hardly anything - only to verify that "something" is working such as the varying sound level through the speakers.

Please help if you have experienced the same problems and overcome them to get an actual (reasonably useful) recording.

Thanks

@Al-Oz

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

First, you selected "Other Products" as your Magix software but you are clearly asking about "Audio Cleaning Lab", though one has to look carefully at your screen shot to deduce this!! Hence I have changed your product area! (BTW, any image inserted in a post can be viewed in a new tab larger by simply clicking on it, no need to ctrl + scroll!)

I have no experience of using this particular Convertor, but one thing I do see from your screenshot: "Audio Input" shows "Integrated Microphone array..". Do you have any other option there? I would expect to see something like "Line".

Thank you for your advice. However, I have now resolved the issue so I will close this post.
