How to change tempo?

svendsen3 wrote on 3/20/2015, 12:44 PM

I have imported an Audio file (with a medium tempo) to my Samplitude Music Studio 2014 but when I playback  the audio file the tempo is way to fast. It sound like a couple of chipmunks are playing the guitars. I have probably changed a setting somewhere, but I dont know which one. Can someone help me?

Thanks

Hi Poul,

As far as I know, there is a default tempo when you start a project. If you import an audio file that has tempo info the project will take on a new tempo. Now if you bring in another audio file with a different tempo, it may automatically get changed to the project tempo. This may be your problem.

With Music Maker, there are settings to avoid this. I haven't found them in Samplitude Music Studio, yet.

You can test this. With the project set to the defaul 120BPM, drag in a Soundpool loop that has a beat of 80 BPM. The project tempo will change to 80. Now bring in a second loop but from another soundpool, say at 120 BPM. The loop will be transformed from 120 BPM into 80 BPM.
