So, I know that in common parlance, people say "30 fps" when they mean 29.97 (drop or non-drop frame).
However, with Apple, apparently, they really mean it. Both VLC player and Video Pro X see Apple's iphone footage as true 30 fps; not as 29.97. AND in seeking to import iphone 11 footage, VPX asks me if I want to "adjust the project to fit the video". I don't know why it doesn't give me the option of adjusting the newly imported iphone video to my 29.97 project.
So, in this case, my project is essentially functioning as a music video. The drum hits, previously lined up perfectly, manually to pretty much the sample level to the external audio file, once rendered are in many cases showing up late. It's as if the "adjusted" withing VPX is erratic.
So, wondering: How are others of you working with imported Apple video at 30 fps in your NTSC-standard 29.97 VPX sessions?
(Thanks for any guidance. Somehow google searches are simply not helpful here regarding how to compensate.)
