How to add your own music to the DVD Menu Themes in MEP 16

I ran into a problem trying to change the music in the DVD theme menu before burning my project to a disc

I have selected the theme and applied it to my project.  What I am attempting to edit is the music that play durring the DVD menu and the Image that is displayed for each chapter.  The music in the past I would hit the edit button then check the box for sound and open the file box and point it to the song i wanted.  Now I get a pop up that say you have to edit the music in the regular editor and you can not add any music to a templet.

One thought was I used the slide show wizard to add the music file for the picutres only the video has its own   Can some one explain how to change the default music of the theme to the music I am using in my video?

As far as selecting the scene in the chapter menu goes. When the chapter menu is selected the  screen will display an image or an animated portion of your video for every place you set a chapter marker.  What I would like to do is change the images that are displayed to the viewer when the menu is selected.

I only did that once over a year ago and really just dont remember how.  I been searching for the tutorial I used to help me the 1st time around but that was back before we switched to this new forum.  If some one can point me to a tutorial  it would help out a lot.

Thank You all

You haven't said which DVD template, or whether you get the problem with several, so I'm unable to try reproducing. But I have tried a few and get no problem.

Terrypin,

Thank you for the help..  Changing the frames worked.. the music however did not.

Sorry for the lack of detail  I am using the theme under... User defined- general  and it looks like the name is SEED.  It is light blue with a flower on it..  The instrructions you gave is exactly what I have alway done in the past.  However when im in that menu the moment I click the sound check box or the box to load the sound file I get the pop up error that follows.

Unigue menus or menu  templates that use the background project as the background, cannot be assigned  audio files  Please open the menu project to edit the background music (via edit view)  You can add your own music there.

Not exactly sure what this means.  The only edit view i know of is the main edit area where you load the pics, vids, and apply your effects.  I always thought the DVD menu had its own section.

Anything else you can think of to help me get through this spot would be great.

Thank You again

That's what I meant by "...open in the Arranger..." Magix terminology (at least after translation to English) is often misleading and inconsistent, and - coupled with a complex UI - the DVD Burn tab is particularly poor. I've suggested several changes over the years but still waiting to see them included!

Here are the detailed steps you need:

Terrypin,

Thanks again.  It seemed to have worked in the preview.  What i did was add my track and mute the other.  That way if I ever want to go back to the default i can.  Haven't finished the project yet but just added the music and hit the preview.  So far it seem to play just fine.  So I am sure it will turn out fine at this point.

It did not check the box next to music.  Just to test I tried checking the box to load the music again and it gives the same error.  So I am not really sure what that area is for then.

Go figure years of messing with this, four versions of this program and finally figure out that button was there and what it does.

Thanks again
