How do you move a block of clips in MEP MX version?

I would like to know if there is a way to highlight and select blocks of clips on the timeline with Magix Movie Edit Pro MX?  It is quite laborious to have to move each one individually.  I have to scoot them way off the end of the project, and drag them back when I need to reposition everything.  Thank you for any help you can provide with this.  My project crashed, and MEP only saved half of what I had done.

Mark the first clip of the block, go to the last clip and mark it keeping Shift down. Now the block is highlighted. Group them by clicking the chain symbol, or shortcut "G". In "Mouse mode for single objects" (6) you now can move the block to an underlying track and push it sideways, or you can use Ctrl+X to cut out and "glue" in at another place with Ctrl+V. Then Ungroup the clips with the broken chain or Shift+G.

The project crashed, try loading a backup file. Go to FileLoad backup project and find the newest file with the ending mv_. There may be up to 10 of them, numbered from 0 to 9. But don't look at the numbers, but the time they were created.

Good luck, A

Hi

Another quicker way to highlight to drag and drop is to left mouse click under the first clip and drag up and over all the following clips creating a dotted rectangle (Marquee). Release the mouse button and and re left click and drag the block of highlighted clips to where you want. No need to lock but you may need to reselect them if you release the mouse button before reaching your final destination.

An alternative that may suit your purpose is to highlight the clips then Rt. click > Save as Takes. This will put thumbnails of the clips in the "Import Tab > My Media >Takes" folder. You can then delete the same group of clips in the timeline and they can be dragged as needed back from "Takes" to different locations in the movie. This process does not delete or create new files but just saves references to them with all effects that may have been already added to each clip.

Cheers
