Hi

First - welcome to the forum.

You select File, New Project from the menu.

This will enable you create a new project and keep the old one so you can go back to it if you need to.

When you save a project the only information that gets save is the names and locations of the files used and information about all the edits etc you have made - these do not take up much room on the computer hard disc.

Make sure you have good backups of you images,  videos and projects - computer hard drives do fail eventually and if the videos/images are precious to you then good backups are essential.

As a minmum I would recommend you backup all your images and videos to good quality DVD - keep them in black DVD cases out of sunlight and away from heat.

For projects MEP has the ability to back up all the files etc used in a project.

Read the installed pdf manual to learn more.
