How do i view vidio footage that is formated in DAV.FILES ?

After downloading cctv footage onto usb storage tried to view on my laptop but windows will/can not

reckonise dav.files.  Is there software that will either work or convert them ?

I suggest you google 'dav' and 'File type' etc. Lots of discussion and some links to players and converters.

To play CCTV DAV files, there are three ways for your reference:

1> Try KMPlayer, I can play my DAV videos with this player directly;

2> Take Handbrake to convert the DAV files as MP4 format, then you can play them on VLC or other media players;

3> Use the default DAV file player provided by the company which produces the cameras that record the videos as DAV format: http://www.videoconverterfactory.com/tips/dav-file-player.html

Unfortunately, you have posted to a thread that is nearly 6 years old. Your information may well be pertinent to the original question but it seems pretty clear that the original questioner has long ago resolved his problem, so please do not resurrect such an old thread.
