How do I update to 14.0.0.183????

JPSmee wrote on 8/23/2015, 8:03 PM

Greetings folks! I picked up MEP 2015 from Steam about 2 months ago, and I've been having some problems using the application. In doing some searching on the forum, I found that there's an update available to 14.0.0.183. Currently I'm running 14.0.0.172, and I'm seeing precisely zero options within the application itself to look for an update. Does anyone know if there is a standalone patch that I can just download and install rather than waiting for Magix to update via Steam?

Hi

. . . . Does anyone know if there is a standalone patch that I can just download and install rather than waiting for Magix to update via Steam? . . . .

If I understand correctly how Steam works - it is Steam that has to update your 'image' of the software.

You are also missing update 14.0.0.176

Thanks for the info! Is there a changelog available somewhere that actually details what is updated with each version? I'm hoping that the issue I'm experiencing (video in a PIP section falls out of sync when exported, even though it's perfectly in-sync in the editor itself) can be resolved simply by updating, as I'm flat out of ideas at this point :-\

Hi

Can you be more specific about what you mean and post a screen shot of the section of timeline where this occurs ?

Specifically:

  1. What are the project settings?

  2. What is the video format and resolution on the timeline?

  3. What export settings are you using?

  4. Do you get any warning messages about positioning of objects when selecting the export format?

I can get a screenshot later tonight when I get back to the home office, however there is no obvious point in the timeline where the issue occurs, it's more of an 'over time' sort of thing; like the video is playing at a slightly (many fractions of a second different) different frame-rate than the main video. In the meantime:

1. NTSC HDTV 1080i 16:9 (1920x1080; 29.97fps)

2. MP4, 29.97 fps, 1920x1080

 - note, this is the same for both video files

3. NTSC HDTV 1080 preset - 1920x1080; 29.97fps, audio sample rate of 44100Hz (same as source audio)

4. No warning messages are displayed at any point. I did note that when I imported the face-cam footage into the timeline, the video did appear out of sync over time; I used the 'object stretch' mode to pull the video out to have it sync properly with the audio (I used an on-screen clap at the begining and the end of the recording to sync with prior to removing from the video for export).

I found the solution to my problem! I found that making use of proxy files during import (I was *not* using this feature previously) resolved my strange syncing issue. Posting here in case anyone later encounters this issue.
