How do I transfer a HD video from a Panosonic HC-V10 camcorder (50p) to Movie Edit Pro 2013 Plus?

Hi,

I can view a video in HD on my camcorder yet when I transfer it into a project for editing it is no longer in HD.  The file is MP4.   The camcorder video is AVCHD Progressive 50p so understand this is the correct software.

I have a Samsung computer with Windows 8.

Please can you help? I am not very techy so laymans terms would be great.

Many thanks

Michelle

Michelle,

This Panasonic site http://www.panasonic.com.au/Products/Camcorders/1MOS+HD+camcorders/HC-V10/Overview says:

"The HC-V10 digital camcorder records crisp, clear High Definition video (1280 x 720) in two formats for greater flexibility. Utilise MP4 recording for broad compatibility and high compression to create small, easy-to-share files."

No mention of AVCHD that I can find. The camear may well say 'HD' on the side but it is not full HD 1920 x 1080.

Regards,

Carl
