How do I Switch to Timeline View?

I just purchased Version 15 and can't figure out how to get started using the Timeline view. This seems such a basic thing and I can't figure it out - not good for software that is supposed to be user friendly and intuitive.

In the upper right-hand corner of your screen you should see "record" "edit" "burn" - click "Edit"

Then, in the middle of the screen, just below the video, you will see a bar that runs across the entire MEP interface. All the way to the left you will see icons, the first being a square. Next to it you will see an icon with four squares. Next to that you will see an icon with horizontal lines. Click that icon, and you will be in timeline mode.

Right under the Video screen,you will see three sections after you clicked on edit at the top-right side of the program screen. After that, you will be ale to view the timeline.
