I tried the suggestions as posted above. I did not have any of the 4 apps on my computer so could not remove them. I did find 3 other apps related to Magix that I did remove. However, none of them had to do with updates. I logged back on again today and same issue. And I looked at the site that the advert sent me to thinking there might be a way to opt out...no luck, poorly designed. Other options?

@Don-Langeberg

Hi

. . . . I have Magix products.  . . .

Depending on which programs, you may see the notification software (Updater) running either in the system tray as shown below

or in Windows Task Manager processes tab as part of the running Magix program as shown below

In either case the program will be in Windows settings, Apps.

On my system this is what I see:

OK, i checked both and find nothing. There is nothing in the system tray. Nor is there anything in the Settings->Apps that looks like it is a Magix product. And the messages still continue to come up each and every day. Other ideas?

OK, a couple of weeks have passed with no response. I am still getting the (annoying) ads everytime I log on to my computer. I checked again in Settings->Apps and can find no references to Magix apps that I can delete. So that approach doesn't seem to be the correct one. I guess I can remove the apps themselves - but that sort of defeats the purpose of using them. Any guidance?

@Don-Langeberg Have you checked the programs in the autostart list inside the Taskmanager? It must be a program that is listed there because it automatically starts with Windows on your computer.

@Don-Langeberg

Hi

Using File Explorer browse to the folder:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\MAGIX Services

Do you see either of the entries shown arrowed in green in the image below?

If not post a screenshot of what you do see.

Which Magix program(s) do you have installed?

@SP.

Hi

. . . .  It must be a program that is listed there because it automatically starts with Windows on your computer. . . . .

Not necessarily, the above 2 items are not listed in Task Manager, Startup in Windows 10 on my laptop, nor in Task Manager, Startup or Apps, Startup in Windows 11 on my PC - they are both started up in the Registry.

@johnebaker It's possible these are installed as Windows services that start automatically. Services can also be checked in the Taskmanager.

@SP.

Hi

. . . . Services can also be checked in the Taskmanager. . . . .

You are correct.

IIRC an old version of Network Sync was run as service, which was easy to disable, also appeared as a background process.

Later versions are, AFAICS, standalone programs, and as I commented above, the ones I have installed are started up from the registry and they appear in Task Manager as a running program.

We need a response from @Don-Langeberg on what has been found.
