I tried the suggestions as posted above. I did not have any of the 4 apps on my computer so could not remove them. I did find 3 other apps related to Magix that I did remove. However, none of them had to do with updates. I logged back on again today and same issue. And I looked at the site that the advert sent me to thinking there might be a way to opt out...no luck, poorly designed. Other options?
OK, i checked both and find nothing. There is nothing in the system tray. Nor is there anything in the Settings->Apps that looks like it is a Magix product. And the messages still continue to come up each and every day. Other ideas?
OK, a couple of weeks have passed with no response. I am still getting the (annoying) ads everytime I log on to my computer. I checked again in Settings->Apps and can find no references to Magix apps that I can delete. So that approach doesn't seem to be the correct one. I guess I can remove the apps themselves - but that sort of defeats the purpose of using them. Any guidance?
@Don-Langeberg Have you checked the programs in the autostart list inside the Taskmanager? It must be a program that is listed there because it automatically starts with Windows on your computer.
. . . . It must be a program that is listed there because it automatically starts with Windows on your computer. . . . .
Not necessarily, the above 2 items are not listed in Task Manager, Startup in Windows 10 on my laptop, nor in Task Manager, Startup or Apps, Startup in Windows 11 on my PC - they are both started up in the Registry.
. . . . Services can also be checked in the Taskmanager. . . . .
You are correct.
IIRC an old version of Network Sync was run as service, which was easy to disable, also appeared as a background process.
Later versions are, AFAICS, standalone programs, and as I commented above, the ones I have installed are started up from the registry and they appear in Task Manager as a running program.
We need a response from @Don-Langeberg on what has been found.
