when i click on the record button it says its recording but doesnt show its recording? what could be the problem?
You did not say if you are recording on computer or from external source? such as using Microphone.
Anyway please refer a pdf tutorial just for some hints. May be you find solution or know settings you needed.

The REC buttons dosen't record computer sound itself as far as i know .
When you press REC it will record MMMs keyboard or input like piano or mic .
What exactly are you trying to record?
