How do I record MY synthesizer into my computer?

Hi guys,
I'm a complete beginner, and I'm having an incredibly hard time getting my synthesizer to make sounds into my computer.

I have a synthesizer (Roland SH-201)

A sound card/interface (Tascam MKII)

And I'm working off MacOSX (Snow Leopard).
I've downloaded all the drivers already.

The synth does USB, MIDI (in/out) and RCA (if that means anything to anyone here).

Please help me figure this out - I'm pulling my hairs out!

It would help if you told us what you've already tried that hasn't worked.

According to the documentation, they say you need to connect the (L/R) audio outputs on your synth to the Audio IN (line IN) on your sound card.

They suggest that the MIDI and USB connections are only for using the keyboard (synth) as a MIDI controller only (no audio). This is obviously true for MIDI, but it is unclear about how the USB ports can be used with MMM.

It may be possible to connect the synth directly to your computer via the USB connections to record audio, but I can't say for sure. Perhaps someone else can clarify this for us?

BTW....The RCA connections on your SH-201 are INPUTS that allow you to use your synth to manipulate (filter, modulate, etc.) sound frrom external sources.

Procyon - thanks but I figured it out. I connected the Mono-Left input from my keyboard to the optical/minijack hook-up in my laptop and am now able to get my keyboard sounds into my computer.

Uh....OK.

Pardon my ignorance, but just how did you connect an audio out to an optical input?
