What Magix program are you using? Any current Magix video software supports the import of standard MPEG-2 files (i.e. MPG file extension). You would just have to locate the file in the built-in file browser (media pool) and drag & drop it down into your timeline/storyboard to trigger the import process. In the newest versions, you would have to activate the MPEG-2 codec via the "Help" menu first, before you can handle MPEG-2 material in the program (or burn DVDs).
