How do I get the New Project Dialog or Start Dialog to show up when I launch MEP 2017?

dmerc wrote on 10/6/2016, 12:34 PM

I just got the new Magix Movie Edit Pro (2017) and when I launch it the New Porject Dialog does not show like it did in MEP 2015.

This is the dialog where you can enter the name of a new project or chose an exisiting project from a drop-down list. Trying to figure out how to enable it. It was a good feature and I have used it for years.

Hi

This sounds like the Do not show again has been activated.  Click the option shown below in the Program settings dialog to re-enable all dialogs.

If that does not work which version are patched up to?

If you are not patched to 16.0.1.25 - do you have the Update online option under Help and the following options in the Program settings, Import/export tab

 - this is in reference to another ongoing issue in another topic where both are missing.

That worked! Thanks johnebaker.

My patch level is on 16.0.1.23 so I will take your advice and update to 1.25 because I am missing those two settings you showed me.

After updating to 1.25 i still don't get those two settings showing up even after a restart but I don't really need them anyway. What I did need was the Start Dialog and you fixed that so thanks again.

Hi

. . . . I am missing those two settings you showed me.

After updating to 1.25 i still don't get those two settings showing up . . . .

Thank you for that information - that issue is part of the ongoing discussion in another topic.

You have not lost anything in updating and gained some corrections to dialogs and other odd behaviours that occassionally occurred.

Hi JohnEB

Are you sure that the box to select the codecs comes up, if only the default is installed?
