How do I enable the Scart-function in MAGIX Movies on DVD (Terratec Edition)?

Shade wrote on 7/12/2011, 11:19 AM

I recently bought the Terratec Grabster AV350MX since it was the only capture device with Scart input. My problem now is that I can't find any way to actually utilize the Scart as the only options anywhere are either composite (which at least gives color when Scart is connected) or S-video - Neither is good enough for my recording standards, so I'm rather desperate here now.

I don't exactly know what else to tell right now, so ask for whatever extra information you might require to help me out.

Hi

As you are getting video from the Terratec then the unit and capture appears to be working fine.

What 'recording standard' are you looking for?  Assuming you a recording from video tape, then the best you will get is the resolution of the tape which if played on an HD TV will look terrible. More info on resolution etc here.   Just to add commercial DVDs upscaled to HD also look bad and they have a higher resolution than tapes.

Is the PAL-60 signal the one you are getting the poor quality with?

Looking at the Terratec spec it would appear that it can only capture PAL at 25 fps or NTSC at 29.97 fps with a 60 fps signal it is not going to cope and will drop frames, give poor colour and an 'movement' in static images.
